nanny was sick today, but didn't figure out that she shouldn't be working until about an hour after she got here. so after i drove her home, belly, bulilit and i took a trip to my favorite store to pick up some necessities. the girls were surprisingly well-behaved during our 45minute trip, but then we got to the check out counter. bulilit decided she'd had enough of sitting in the cart and she wanted to run around. let me tell you, determined little almost-16 month olds can be very fast! i was literally that mom at the store with the toddler throwing a tantrum, holding up carts behind me as we attempted to exit the store.because e felt sorry for me having to watch the kids unexpectedly, he arranged to be home at 12:30. while i still think we would've been fine on our own, i can't deny how much easier it is with e here. he kept belly busy while i did a little work (bulilit was napping by the time he got home), then kept bulilit busy while i put belly down for her nap. then, he packed both of them up in the car and had some daddy-daughters time while i cleaned up the house and caught up on emails.
to top it all off, e grilled dinner - steak and eggs. i heart summer grill season!
